I'm proud to introduce the Virtual Wallet made by Arnout Sequent. Great job Arnout :D .
The vitual wallet can be used at Osgrid and SL, maybe in the future more worlds to come.
People must start to make an account at Osgrid. ATM's are located at our Dutch Sims. After making this account they must return to SL and search for another ATM. (one is located at "Oud Holland" and can be find in the search)
People can fill the wallet or empty the wallet on sl, and spend their money on Osgrid or make money off course.

Arnout also provided us with free vendors and free rental boxes....so we can start an enocomy on Osgrid :D

OSGird my other sim/150/120

on Osgrid you can find the ATM on "Holland" in front off the windmill.

on SL you can find the Atm on "Oud Holland" in "De Holland Shop" , it has its own little piece off land and is in the search too.

Here is my expedtion diary - on the hunt for the "virtual wallet" money service (<-- see last word)... :-)

i did look arround again...

in SL i finaly found a "iDeal ATM" on that parcell, not what i´m looking for...

since i didn´t even know what to look for, went to osgrid - and YES here are the coordinates from osgrid:

OSGRID Holland/160/145

This ATM (doesn´t like one..) gives out SLURLs, great...

--> did get a code (for linking the Accounts)

went to the first: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Holland/159/144/22 a Zoo, havent seen a ATM

uups...

this seem to be osgrid-coordinates, even if it says "secondlife"...

ok - back to "De Holland Shop" , at least now i know what to look for...

i made it !

SL: OUD HOLLAND/205/160

I did link the account (in SL the system owner is Arnout Sequent) and did put 500L$ in.

Balance is now 500V$ (virtual $ i guess)

you can get compatiple vendor, tipjar and rental box.

And you can pay the owner of the system (don´t know what taht is good for..., not that i´m not willing to pay for a service... but i would expect something like pay - ammount - user , and not only to the owner)

i went back in SL to my home... reezed the vendor...

ah ! the script seems generic for vendor and ATM --> so payment makes sense.

payment is done by touching the vendor and a menu. all very basic, but functional.

went on to osgrid to see that portion...

got my correct account information

bad - sadly - could not get a vendor or rental box.

so: the system is interesting and promissing - but i would need a email for support, since osgrid has no offline IM (to Arnout Sequent , the owner of the stuff - profile is empty)

at the end, the locations the ATM gives:

SL:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Oud%20Holland/207/162/21
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Earthstar/186/169/703
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lobo/221/81/22
http://slurl.com/secondlife/0031%20Vinex/236/216/22

OSgrid:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Galaxy%20De ... 136/136/22
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Klein%20Holland/42/10/22
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Holland/159/144/22
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Steel/247/136/23

cheers,
Ralf

You finally made it :D
And yes you pay the owner (Arnout) virtually, but no costs are there, the money is yours...

Maybe Arnout can join us tonight at this topic...he is the expert....

Yes, this seems a step forward, many people are awaiting currency in OSGrid,
But doesnt this particular model leave us somewhat dependant on SL? seems to me the whole system depends on users having an account on SL, and at the end of the day we would all be spending our $Lindens.
Also it is a private individual providing the interface, LL wont support it, does anybody remember Ginko?
Sorry if I sound negative, but these things must be considered.

I concur Cam,
would rather see some code than use a proprietary interface that requires four trusted parties.
1)Buyer
2)Seller
3)Script that interfaces with a third party web site
4)and depends on Linden Lab fiat currency

No offence, but that's not an economy *I* want to get entangled in.

Then there's the Galaxy Design Center where an avatar cannot even move...
not that it is part of this exchange system, but it reflects on the competency of the administrators no?
GDC is operated by the same group/avatar promoting this "Virtual Wallet"

"No offence, but that's not an economy *I* want to get entangled in."
No offence, you are allowed to stay out.

"Then there's the Galaxy Design Center where an avatar cannot even move"
I have seen stranger things on osgrid, but I expect it to get better.
I can move now :)

The dependency with the linden currency made a bit sense to me because a lot of avatars on osgrid still have some L$, and it is the only currency exchange wich i can offer with no costs. Other options would be nice in the future but L$ is available as we speak.

I also want to make clear that a virtual wallet account is not supposed to be bank account. A virtual wallet is more like a wallet where you can put a limited amount of money in when you go to a shop to buy something.

The V$ is a here and now solution, it may be not the optimum in its current form in the future, but at least trading is possible now.

Kind Regards,
Arnout Sequent
